Mt. Seymour Ski & Snowboard School Volunteer Opportunites!

Ski and Board instructor assistants are needed for the 2016/17 winter season! In return for volunteering your time and commitment, Mt. Seymour provides a full Staff season pass, training and staff benefits. If you volunteer for a minimum of 100 hours on-hill volunteering throughout the season plus two training days, you will also receive a complimentary family pass for an immediate family member!
- Minimum 15 years old (14 with letter from parent/guardian)
- Intermediate skiing or snowboarding abilities
- Must have ski/snowboard equipment
- Must enjoy working outside with 4-7 year old children

Friday, October 21: 2:00pm-7:00pm and Saturday, October 22: 9:00am-3:00pm
Full-time and part-time positions are available! Free shuttle is provided to/from work, snowboarding and skiing perks, no experience necessary, training provided, flexible hours, positions for all ages!

Friends of the Library Volunteers Needed!

Friends of the Library are always looking for volunteers for our Book Sales and Art Receptions. We are currently looking for volunteers for our Book Sale this Thursday, Oct. 20 – Sunday, Oct. 23.
The sale is near Lynn Valley Library, it is held in the multi-purpose room and the entrance is in the foyer opposite the library main doors.

Thursday is our set up day.  We usually have shifts blocked into 2 hour time periods.  Although, anyone that wants to volunteer is welcome at any time. The job on Thursday is opening boxes and putting the books out for sale. The first sale shift is the Thursday night.  It is a preview night for members or anyone who wants to pay $5.00 to become a member.  The volunteers would be entitled to 10 free items (book or AV).
The shifts on Thursday:
Set-up:    10 – 12 Noon
Set-up:     12 – 2 PM
Set-up/Organize:   2 – 4 PM
Set-up/Organize:   4 – 6 PM
Set-up/Organize/Sale:   6 – 8 PM

UBC Engineering Go Girls!

Grade 9 girls – join us for an exciting day of exploration. Get creative and participate in fun engineering activities. Tour engineering labs, connect with other like-minded students and talk to current engineering students and professionals who will share their stories and experience.
Parents are welcomed to a parent information session later in the day.
Date: Saturday, October 15, 2016
