St. Andrews United 11th Annual Teddy Bear Picnic!

St. Andrew’s United Church invites the public to attend its annual Teddy Bear Picnic on Saturday, June 18 th from 10:30a.m. – 2p.m., rain or shine, at St. Andrew’s Park in North Vancouver (St. Georges & 11 th street). The event is free and features a variety of entertainment for everyone, including clowns, music, storytelling, face painting, cookie decorating and a bouncy castle! Hotdogs and refreshments will also be provided at a nominal cost! Over the years, the Teddy Bear Picnic has been very successful with large turnouts of local neighborhood families who come to enjoy a day of laughter, fun activities, and community engagement in the park. All are welcome!
What we would need the volunteers to do:
-clean up (1:30 - 3pm) help zero waste, take down tents, clean park.
- floaters (10-2pm) help with various booths. need to be good with children

Studio in the City!

Studio in the City 9

We are now accepting applications for Studio in the City 9 – The Art of Placemaking.  Applications are due June 15, 2016.  These are paid apprentice positions that provide an honorarium for 100 hours of work.Young artists will work individually and in teams to create art projects related to Placemaking around the City! This year, the group will meet at the Pipe Shop in Shipbuilder’s Square on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10 am – 3 pm each day.  There will also be some variability or additional days/hours required based on project creation or event production. Projects could include but are not limited to: painting, photography, video art, event production, dance, theatre, music, performance, being a City host and more!  If you have any questions, please email youth@cnv.org. Tomorrow's Masters of Digital Media Program!

The TMDM program is a 3-week intensive summer boot camp running from August 8th - 26th, created and taught by the Master of Digital Media Program faculty with support from the Lower Mainland’s digital media industry. Launched in 2008, TMDM's mission is to give teens an opportunity to explore both educational and career opportunities in Vancouver's vibrant digital media industry. 
Students will learn rapid prototyping and collaborative techniques and will have a playable digital media product at the end of this fun 3-week course.
The cost for the entire program is $1600 per student. Partial bursaries may become available for students who require financial support.
Unlike other summer camps, TMDM is a competitive entry program. Applicants must write a letter of intent and include references from their teachers. An info session will be held on:

KPU it's all about U!

Camp Ignite Mentorship Program!

Camp Ignite Mentorship Program was designed by Metro Vancouver female firefighters specifically for girls. The Camp was designed to help girls realize a future of limitless opportunities and that regardless of your gender, anything is possible! Camp ignite is a four-day camp that educates and inspires young women through firefighting activities designed to encourage teamwork, courage, commitment, strength of character and fitness.
This years camp will run from August 11-14, 2016 in the Vancouver area. The Camp is open to girls in Grades 11 and 12 (ages 16-18).
